Officials are still working to contain the fire that broke out in the basement of the ThorSport Racing team shop in Sandusky, Ohio early this morning.
An official statement released by the team on Monday stated the fire started shortly after midnight at the 100,000-square-foot facility; no one was injured. The organization is the longest-tenured of the Camping World Truck Series and currently houses full-time teams for two-time champion Matt Crafton, Ben Rhodes, Rico Abreu and Cameron Hayley.
“We are currently working with the fire department and local officials to contain the blaze, and assess the damage,” the statement read. “We do not expect this to impact the team’s competition schedule. Our next race is at Iowa Speedway in Newton on Saturday, June 18. Further details will be forthcoming.”
Last Friday, ThorSport placed two trucks in the top 10 at Texas Motor Speedway in the Rattlesnake 400.
A local news station captured video of the fire, which can be seen here.
